How can I get my products to the top of the search results?
When searches are performed on The Price-Guide UK, you sometimes see products in a separate section above the Search Results.
These are what we call Featured Listings. They appear when UK site operators have associated their products with the categories that have been used in searches.
This facility allows you to display products that you sell in conjunction with Categories specifically identified with your business.
How am I charged for the service?
You are charged when each user clicks through to your site.
If you have investigated the way you can advertise on the Internet, you will find that the most common scheme is to pay for banner impressions. This effectively means that you pay on the basis of the number of times an advertising banner is displayed. Although banner advertising is good for establishing visuals associated with brands, 'click through' rates can be extremely low.
If your objective is to attract more visitors to buy your product, Featured listings allow you to directly gear expenditure to sales, as it allows you to pay only when someone clicks through to your site via a 'Buy Now' link. As a site operator that means you can now cost your advertising on the basis of a visitor introduced to your product in a similar way as you can calculate cost per lead for other forms of advertising.
Essentially, the 'Featured Products' facility virtually guarantees your product(s) will be noticed and this is no mean feat on a site of this size. Since the Price-Guide UK comprises upwards of 250 000 product listings, there is only one sure way of achieving this - by listing your products at the top of each search results page!
Can I decide how much I want to pay?
There is a minimum charge of 10p per click through, but the scheme allows you to bid for exactly how much you are prepared to pay. The top 5 bids will be displayed at the top of the results for searches in your selected category. It doesn't actually cost you anything until someone clicks through to your site.
Remember, more than 97% of Price-Guide UK users are based in the UK.
In what order do Featured listings appear?
If you bid for a category and yours is the top bid, then it's your product (using your description) that will appear as the top entry above other bids for that category. It still won't cost you anything until a user clicks through to your site.
The top five bids are displayed at the top of every page of results. Bids which fall below the top five will not be listed.
Can I create my Listing on-line?
You can open an account now, prepare your listing and start bidding for click throughs.
A (non-refundable) deposit of £25 (ex VAT) will be transferred from your card to your account. This deposit can be used to buy click throughs.
If you nominate a deposit greater than £25, the excess balance will be refunded to you if you decide to cancel the arrangement at any time.
Once you have opened the account, you can register your product(s) and select categories which match the profile of your product(s). Your deposit is consumed only when users 'click-through' to your site as a result of the categories you have selected.
Can you write the Listing for me?
